This "Dubrovnik" style chess set (a faithful reproduction) features heavily weighted pieces; the King stands 3.75 inches tall with a base diameter of 1.75 inches (45 mm). The set is "double-weighted," and the piece bases are lined with thick green felt. The dark pieces are crafted from Sheesham wood, while the light pieces are made of Boxwood. The design is an accurate recreation of the "Dubrovnik" set from the 1970s—the very set used at the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen (West Germany) and popularized by the legendary Bobby Fischer, who was often photographed playing with his own personal set. Unlike many sets characterized by intricate ornamentation, this set prioritizes durability: the pieces feature stable bases and reinforced collars, ensuring they withstand years of intensive use. The tops of the bishops feature a contrasting color, and the top of the King piece is easily interchangeable.
